2008 UWHCA Union Contract Negotiations

SEIU Healthcare District 1199 Wisconsin members at UW Hospitals and Clinics have begun negotiations for a new union contract. CLICK HERE for information about union contract negotiations.

The UWHC/SEIU Healthcare District 1199 WI Bargaining Team has signed a contract extension while they work to complete a new agreement with the UWHCA.

2008 Bargaining Survey #1

All union members are encouraged to offer their ideas to modify the current union contract with UWHCA. Please click here to complete a union bargaining survey. And please plan to attend membership bargaining meetings on Wednesday, December 5th at the Hospital Room G5/134 at 9am, 3:30p or 8pm. We look forward to winning a strong union contract from the active participation of all members.

Staffing Surveys

On a regular basis, we meet with management to discuss safe staffing levels. To meaningfully discuss problems with staff levels on our units, we need your input on staffing. Please complete the 2008 Staffing Survey.

Hand Off Survey

Management at UWHC is attempting to change our reporting procedure based on supposed recommendations from JCAHO. We think some of the changes are unwise and unnecessary. Please help out by filling out hour Hand Off Survey to give your views on shift reports.

A Greater Voice in Working Conditions and Patient Care

One of our Bargaining Committee's primary objectives during bargaining was to achieve more of a voice for professional staff in the decisions that affect our working conditions and patient care. We came to several agreements with management that give us greater input on issues like floating, staffing, scheduling and professional advancement.
